Please watch the video, "got technology?", that I created with some of my classmates to highligt the benefits of using technology in education. We presented this video at the New York State Assocation for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE) Metro Conference on May 17, 2008 in Rye Brook, NY.

Introduction to My Portfolio

Technology is changing the education field.  I am very passionate about the positive effects that technology can have in today’s schools.  I have a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from the New York Institute of Technology.  My computer knowledge includes various computer programs that educators can use to create content for students, and programs that students can use to create projects, gain information, and communicate with other students and teachers.  My field experience using technology is diverse. Currently I work as an Educational Technology Specialist for St. John's Universiry. I train professors on how to integrate technology into their courses. I was an adjunct professor at Adelphi University where I taught computer applications and website design. I have worked for the Copiague School District as a computer enrichment teacher for their summer school program. I have also worked with teachers in the Copiague and Massapequa school districts to help them design classroom homepages. My graduate school thesis allowed me to work with students and teachers in a high needs district on Long Island to help them implement iPods and math videos into their curriculum to increase test scores. My knowledge and experiences in technology will enable me to be successful in any school.  I have created this portfolio to showcase some of my technology projects.  All of these projects use technology in some capacity.  Some of these projects allow students to interact with technology.  Other projects are resources for teachers, giving them lesson ideas as well as materials that they can access using the Internet.
